Veterans Day 5K Run

2023 Veterans 5K run

On November 11th, in partnership with the Amelia Island Run Club, more than 90 runners made their way to the starting line for the annual Cross the Line Foundation Veterans Day 5 Kilometer run. The event started under the Fernandina Beach Veterans Memorial with a simple salute to our Veteran community and a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem sung by Kevan Wilson.  As for the race, the first- place male finisher and overall race winner Justin Rimondi finished the run with a 21:16 clip.  The first female finisher was Brittany Landry coming in at a very fast 24:06.  The second-place male and female finishers were Chris Taylor and Kim Gray.  Brining home the third- place trophies were Austin Dimas and Kendi Lybarger. A great time was had by all runners and walkers, who collectively raised enough money to support a local Gold Star Veteran family.  The Cross the Line Foundation would like to thank all who participated and especially our many volunteers who helped along the course. Also, a big shout out to our local law enforcement officers, fire department EMTs and auxiliary police who made the course safe for everyone.
