Yvette Ray

Yvette was born in Detroit, MI and relocated to San Diego, CA as a small child.  Yvette began her Nursing career as an Army Nurse in 1973 as was privileged to work alongside other medical professionals on Operation Babylift as the Vietnam conflict drew to a close.

Following her military service, Yvette transitioned into Occupational Medicine where she had responsibilities for ensuring the delivery of healthcare at manufacturing facilities at GSK and Johnson and Johnson globally.

Yvette has lived and served within the US and abroad throughout her career. However, during a Valentine’s Day kayak trip on Lofton Creek in 2016, she and her husband agreed they had finally found their “permanent” home. Their love of this Island has grown exponentially through their involvement and commitment to Foar from Home, Cross the Line, Pickleball, and Kayaking.  They love being part of this community and its growing commitment to serve all Veterans and First Responders who have given so much of themselves.
